Shaunté Evans, CEO, Spartanburg Housing

Spartanburg Housing continues to strive for excellence as we serve residents of Spartanburg County. We are working to create more housing options, support families by providing services and programs, effectively manage housing, and remain fiscally responsible. 

As the CEO of Spartanburg Housing, Shaunté oversees and ensures the agency's effective operations. Her career in affordable housing and community development spans over 25 years.

Shaunté joined Spartanburg Housing (SH) in September 2019. Before joining SH, she served as the Executive Vice President of Administrative Operations for the Charlotte Housing Authority. In her position, Shaunté was responsible for implementing the agency's Moving to Work program and overseeing Government Affairs, Public Relations, Compliance, and the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Before her employment at the Charlotte Housing Authority, Shaunté worked for the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Aiken Housing Authority.

Shaunté is a member of the executive leadership and serves on numerous committees for the Carolinas Council for Housing Redevelopment & Code Officials (CCHRCO), the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO), and the Southeastern Regional Council for NAHRO. In addition, she serves on the United Way of the Piedmont Board of Directors, Spartanburg Academic Movement Board of Directors, Northside Development Group Board of Directors, and the South Carolina Community Loan Fund Board of Directors. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina Aiken and an MBA from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
