Electronic Housing Waiting List Opening: Housing Choice Voucher Program 

Applications will only be accepted electronically by applying at portal.shasc.org beginning Monday, November 14, 2022, at 9:00am.
The application portal will close on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 4:00pm.

Note:  This is for a waiting list; immediate/emergency housing is not available.

• The Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) is the federal government's major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.
• Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants are able to find their own housing, including single-family homes, townhouses and apartments.
• Housing choice vouchers are administered locally by Spartanburg Housing and must be used within Spartanburg County.
